R-VALUES & NON-SKID MOSAIC TILES

If you choose mosaic tiles for the floor - especially in the bathroom or kitchen - it is important to pay attention to the anti-slip. This prevents the floor from becoming slippery when wet. The R-value shows how much grip a tile has, so you can decorate safely and stylishly.

What is an R-value?

The R-value indicates how rough a tile is. The higher the value, the more grip. For example:

  • R10: a good choice for floors where it sometimes gets a little wet.
  • R11: ideal for bathrooms, showers or places where there is often water on the floor.

Why important with mosaic floors?

Small mosaic tiles have many joints. That automatically provides extra grip. If you choose a tile with R10 or R11 on top of that, you get a floor that is safe and looks beautiful.

Which R-value fits which project?

  • For dry areas or walls, glossy tile or R10 is often enough.
  • For bathroom floors and showers, R11 mosaic is the safest.
  • For outdoor or high-traffic areas, we recommend R11 in a matte finish.
